The Universities of Trento and Padova join forces in the fight against kidney cancer
EXTEND's investment in the SYNARGY project
The SYNARGY project, coordinated by Prof. Manuela Basso of the University of Trento and Prof. Maria Pennuto of the University of Padova, has received a significant investment from EXTEND, a fund specialising in technology transfer. The investment aims to support the development of an innovative RNA-based platform to treat renal cell carcinoma (RCC), the most common form of kidney cancer in adults.
The research focuses on the androgen receptor (AR), a key regulator in cancer biology.
Unlike conventional therapies, the new approach aims to modulate the function of the androgen receptor more safely and effectively.
This investment not only validates the potential of this new strategy but also reinforces confidence in the power of scientific innovation to improve patients' lives.
